Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields (born May 31 1965) is an American model and actress. She was a first-time child model and received acclaim at the age of 12 due to her role in Louis Malle's film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling until her late teenage years and was featured in numerous dramas during the 1980s, including The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981).In 1983, Shields put aside her work as a model in order to study at Princeton University, where she received a bachelor's degree in Romance Languages. Shields started acting again in the early 1990s, and was seen in a few minor role in movies. She also starred in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-2000), where she earned two Golden Globe nominations, and Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009). Shields was back on NBC in 2017 in the role of a regular Law & Order: Special Victims character from the show's 19th Season. Since 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields was a Manhattan, New York, native born on May 31st of 1965. She is the daughter of Teri Shields, actress and model, as well as Frank Shields, a businessman (1941-2003). According to William Addams Reitwiesner research, Shields had ancestral connections to several noble families from Italy. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia di Civitella Cisi di Civitella was her paternal grandmother. She was the daughter of an American socialite as well as an Italian prince. Her great-uncle was Alessandro Torlonia from Italy, who was married to Infanta Beatriz of Spain. The family of Teri paid Frank the sum of money to stop her pregnancy.
