Winona Laura Horowitz, professionally referred to as Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter after her hometown. Michel Horowitz is her father as well as Cynthia Palmer is her mother. Ryder's father came from the Jewish family. Ryder considers herself Jewish. Ryder is the younger sister of Uria as well as half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven.
